My name is Iván Bernal Pallí, and I’m a film photographer based in Madrid, Spain. My work with lith printing and other alternative processes explores how photography can transform the real world into an alternative reality while focusing on the materiality of the printed image.

Though I have always been fascinated by trees they only became my main photographic subject after I started exploring the local woodland behind our house in Edinburgh. I feel trees awaken in us a connection with our past that, unfortunately, we have forgotten. Through my images, I invite viewers to pause and look more closely at the world around them. I hope to evoke a sense of belonging, wonder, and a renewed connection with the natural world.

My work has recently been featured in the film photography exhibitions “Beyond Film” in Nuremberg, and “Les Néo-Argentiques”, within the Salon de la Photo 2026.
